Frequent Sore throats Back

Expert Answers

Hello,

It's normal for parents of a toddler to be worried, as your child has history of frequent sore throat (once a month). During this phase children are developing immunity and have frequent history of running nose, cough, sore throat.
I just want to know whether your childs sore throat is associated with fever, difficulty in swallowing or eating or not, as most common cause of sore throat is a viral infection which is caused by a virus and resolves on its own, but if it is bacterial, there may be inflammation of tonsils which is most commonly caused by beta hemolytic streptococci which needs to be treated with oral antibiotics.

If it is tonsillitis, and has recurrent history of sore throat, fever,ENT consultation can be done.

During the sore throat please check for fever. If your baby has no fever and is eating and doing well then you don't need to worry.

Please make sure to consult with your child's pediatrician before giving any medicine.
